Held my very first book-signing event at my church Friday night. Why at church? My family at St. John’s has been vital to our lives and to my recovery, as well as my personal spiritual growth. We have been abundantly blessed by friendships and ministry opportunities, and I’ve been able to deliver a couple of sermons of my own.
Like most every moment since my diagnosis in March 2012, the book-signing found us surrounded by friends we’ve known for years and some we’ve met along the road of this journey. Some were brand new friends, walking their own cancer journey and looking for a little inspiration. I pray they found it.
The lovely Sarah’s Facebook post following the event best describes the wonderful evening we had: “We laughed, Michael read aloud, he signed copies, we cried with others on the same road we were on, we laughed some more. And we breathe thanks for it all.”
