Gratitude Journal: January 18, 2015

Three things for which I’m grateful today:

1. Rev. Amy Carole Figg. The first person I ever met from St. John’s Lutheran Church, Amy is a beloved member of our family. We’ve been through some “stuff,” and I’m grateful for her presence in both difficult and joyous moments.

2. Teaching. I am part of a team teaching from Brian McLaren‘s We Make The Road By Walking. It’s an amazing book, and I realized today that I love teaching, speaking and preaching. Is it any wonder going to seminary is on my bucket list?

3. Quiet time. Sarah has spent much of the day working, which has given me ample time for some time alone, and to do a bit of writing.
