Because there are at least three things for which to be grateful every day, here are mine:
1. World Cancer Day and the news that a friend’s health status is on the upswing. Great way to mark the day. Looking forward to seeing him thrive in his life after.
2. State Sen. Richard Briggs. The deck may have been stacked against passage of Insure Tennessee, Gov. Haslam’s plan to expand access to 280,000 low-income Tennesseans, but the good doctor voted in favor on the Senate Health Committee.
3. Time with another friend, sharing my “expertise” as a dude with a colostomy. “Do everything you can to not shit yourself” really doesn’t cover it.
